The success of the sole proprietorship will depend largely on the management skills of the owner. The firm will need a generalist with sufficcient grasp of the various specialized functions performed, l;ike those for marketing, production, finance, accounting, personnel, and bookkeeping .
Unfortunately, it is hard to find qualified generalists to manage the ifrm. If the sole propietor lacks the skills of a generalist, then it will be very hard for the firm to succeed.
